During the 2025/2026 council year, CCPSL continued advocacy on two major workforce issues: Medical Service Minute amendments and public health cadre planning.
The College raised concerns about arrangements that could restrict Community Medicine specialists from leadership positions traditionally open across specialties and prepared a position note seeking restoration of equal opportunity and timely advertisement of posts.
CCPSL also developed cadre projections for Community Physicians across national, provincial and regional levels. The proposal was submitted to the Ministry of Health and incorporated into official cadre-planning discussions, reflecting the growing need for public health leadership in surveillance, maternal and child health, NCDs, nutrition, environmental health and health promotion.
