National TB Inventory Survey Strengthens Tuberculosis Surveillance in Sri Lanka 1223 288 CCPSL

A national Tuberculosis Inventory Survey was initiated to generate country-specific evidence on underreporting of diagnosed TB patients and strengthen national TB burden estimates.

The survey is being implemented by the National Programme for Tuberculosis Control and Chest Diseases across 13 selected districts, with technical guidance from WHO and the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association. CCPSL is partnering in the management of funds and implementation of survey activities.

An introductory meeting was held on 27 June 2026, and data collection commenced in July 2026 with a planned five-month implementation period.
