The One Health Integrated Surveillance for Zoonotic Diseases (OHIS-Zoo) Project emerged as a major collaboration during the 2025/2026 council year.

Developed jointly by the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health and CCPSL, the project aims to co-design and pilot an integrated surveillance and prediction system for leptospirosis in Kalutara District.

By linking human, animal and environmental health data, the initiative seeks to support earlier detection, prevention and coordinated response to zoonotic disease threats.
