The College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka (CCPSL) is proudly celebrating 100 Years of Community Health in Sri Lanka (1926 – 2026). In honor of this milestone, the CCPSL is calling for abstract submissions for the prestigious Dr. H.S.R. Perera Award for Health System Strengthening Research for Advancement of Public Health.
This award recognizes outstanding individuals who have successfully transformed research evidence into practical applications to advance public health in Sri Lanka.
Who is Eligible?
To be considered for this award, applicants must be the first or presenting author of the research and must have served in the field of public health for a minimum of 5 years.
Selection Process
The evaluation will be conducted in two main stages:
Stage 1: Shortlisting of Abstracts
- Initial Submission: Applicants must submit a detailed 500-word abstract.
- Secondary Submission: Shortlisted candidates will then be required to submit an advocacy brief, short video, or infographic that was utilized during their research process to advocate, communicate, or mediate with relevant stakeholders.
Stage 2: Verbal Presentation and Interview Shortlisted candidates will participate in:
- A 10-minute oral presentation followed by a 20-minute interview.
- Assessment Criteria: Candidates will be evaluated on communication, innovative presentation skills, the ability to advocate to multiple stakeholders using advocacy tools, and effective time management.

- Abstract Submission Deadline: 30th April 2026
- End of Stage One Evaluation: 30th May 2026
- End of Second Stage Evaluation & Notification: 10th July 2026
- Award Presentation: 24th July 2026 (at the Annual Academic Sessions)
