Guidelines for Submissions

  1. Background

The year 2026 marks a significant milestone: 100 years of organized community health services in Sri Lanka. To commemorate this event, an exhibition will be organized to showcase success stories and innovations that have contributed to improving the health and wellbeing of the population.

This exhibition aims to highlight successful public health interventions, encourage knowledge sharing, and inspire future innovations across the health sector.

  1. Who Can Submit

Submissions are welcome from:

  • National public health programmes and institutions
  • Provincial and district health teams
  • Medical Officer of Health teams
  • Hospital teams
  • Universities and training institutions
  • Research organizations
  • Non-governmental organizations (NGO)
  • Community-based organizations (CBO)
  • Individual public health professionals
  1. Categories of Submissions

Submissions may fall under one or more of the following categories:

  1. Successes in public health programmes – Successful implementation of preventive or promotive health programmes
  2. Innovations in public health – New tools, technologies, systems, or methods
  3. Community-based public health initiatives – Initiatives driven by community participation
  4. Health systems strengthening – Improvements in how health services are delivered, managed, or implemented
  5. Digital health and information systems – Use of technology, data systems, or digital tools in public health
  6. Emergency and outbreak response – Effective responses to public health emergencies or epidemics
  7. Intersectoral collaboration – Initiatives involving multiple sectors improving public health outcomes
  1. Submission Requirements

Each submission should include the following information:

  1. Title: A clear and concise title of the initiative.
  2. Institution / Organization and contact information – Name, designation, institution, email, telephone number
  • Names of team members
  1. Background / Problem statement – Brief description of the public health issue addressed.
  2. Objective/s – Key objective/s of the initiative.
  3. Description of the intervention / innovation – Provide a detailed description including the following: target population, setting, key activities, implementation process, equity considerations
  • Results and impact – Describe measurable outcomes, where available, such as:
  • Improvements in health indicators
  • Increased service coverage
  • Enhanced community engagement
  • Providing better services while using fewer resources
  • Sustainability – Explain how the initiative can be sustained over time.
  1. Scalability / Replicability – Explain whether the initiative can be replicated or scaled up in other settings.
  2. Lessons learned – Key lessons, challenges faced, and how they were addressed.

 

  1. Format of Submission

Submissions should not exceed 1,000 words.

Optional attachments:

  • Photographs, infographics, data tables, short videos (if available)

Submission process:

  • Submit by 20 April 2026 to ccpslexhibition@gmail.com
  • Acceptance notifications and further instructions will be sent by 15 May 2026.

 

  1. Review and Selection Criteria

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of public health experts based on:

  • Relevance to Sri Lanka’s public health priorities
  • An Innovative or creative approach
  • Feasibility of implementation
  • Results and supporting evidence
  • Potential for expansion or application in other settings
  • Long-term sustainability
  • Community involvement and participation

 

  1. Exhibition Format

Selected submissions will be invited to present through posters, videos, exhibition booths, or on-site demonstrations.
