The College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka marked a new chapter in its history with the induction of Dr. Vindya Kumarapeli as the 31st President on 17 October 2025 in Colombo.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, past presidents, fellows, council members, senior Ministry of Health officials, representatives of UN organisations and partner institutions.
In her Presidential Address, Dr. Kumarapeli identified two major priorities for the council year: commemorating the centenary of organised community health in Sri Lanka and launching a national wellbeing campaign under the theme Be Connected. Stay Well.
The National Campaign for Well-being was formally launched at the induction, promoting physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing across the life course through stronger connections with self, family, peers, community and environment.
